Paisley pattern

Paisley is a city in central Scotland. By the 19th century, Paisley had established itself as a centre of the weaving industry by the mid-nineteenth century, giving its name to the Paisley Shawl and the Paisley Pattern. Paisley is a droplet-shaped vegetable motif of Indian and Persian origin. Shawls of Paisley design were in fashion from around 1800’s.
