Moda Unica, the italian textile event is starting today in Milan.

 

Textile is surely the most interesting industrial reality of our country but today it has several economical problems and only the banks keep it alive with money help.... China has developed in the last ten years a strong textile production, with organized and low expensive workers. Italian producers has been attracted by this new power and have exported their knowhow and competences, spoling the italian field and now China starts looking at its personal internal market, snobbing he import-export and applying a protectionalistic politic with high duties.... it's still looking abroad, but just for new ideas.

 

Now I can tell you I know several textile italian companies, and even the most important and glamourous ones, I would call them heroes for the strenght they defend their cultural patrimony and product; they have never given or taken compromises with nobody after all.

With the Waste Couture I have chosen a sustainable project for these companies, I think saving the future of this industry I still feel proud of it it's a priority.
